Big-company software, built for local businesses

L Squared Consulting builds and looks after websites, AI assistants and automation for the businesses that keep Lowestoft and Suffolk running: dance schools, tutors, cafés and takeaways, salons, tradespeople and holiday lets. Everything runs on a platform we built so that a small business gets the same quality of software as the companies below, at a price that makes sense for a dance school or a café.

You will meet Luke Crocker, our founder and lead engineer. Fifteen years building software for banks, insurers, start-ups and software companies, most recently as a senior contract engineer, and based in Oulton Broad.

    Taken ageing desktop tools and rebuilt them as fast web portals that staff actually like using.

    Planned and led the move of whole suites of heritage applications, running old and new side by side so nothing broke on the way.

    Lead engineer on a brand-new platform: payments and payouts, text messages and email, all designed and built from scratch.

    Delivered a replacement software product before a competitor's switch-off date, working directly with the people who used it to get it right.

    Built and optimised a central cheque clearing system for one of Africa's largest banks, clearing hundreds of millions a day, and removed an entire overnight shift by redesigning the process.

    Card payments, email and app notifications, text messages, login systems and the plumbing between them.

    Set up testing and architecture that let teams use AI tools productively while keeping code reliable. Mentored developers and coached teams.
